It is sponsored by Litmaps and the Wellington Branch of the Royal Society of New Zealand.

Many subscribers have indicated that they would like to support the Glean Report financially too.

This campaign gives subscribers the opportunity to contribute, while keeping the service free for those who can't afford, or prefer not, to pay for the Glean Report.

We are hoping to raise $4,000 in this round of crowdfunding to cover the costs of running the Glean Report. If we cannot raise this amount it is possible that the Glean Report will need to close at the end of 2026.

This sponsorship drive follows on from six similar experiments conducted over the last 13 years to see how much support there is in the community for the Glean Report.

The Glean Report is co-edited by:

- Ruth Beran, a science journalist with more than 20 years’ experience in print, radio and television; and

- Melanie Newfield, a Wellington-based writer and researcher who is passionate about making the science behind important issues accessible to everyone.

For those who are outside of Wellington, the Glean Report is now available as a twice weekly newsletter of online events in Aotearoa New Zealand.
