Fundraising for St Mary the Immaculate Conception Avondale

On Monday 14th July 2025 our parish community suffered a devastating loss when our beloved Church of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception was catastrophically destroyed by fire in the early hours of that morning. We lost everything! Our Church was demolished on Thursday 17th July 2025. In order for our parish to continue having regular weekday Masses onsite, we will need to urgently replace what we lost in the fire - Things like Liturgical items such as Weekday and Sunday Lectionaries, Priest's Missal, white Altar table covers, Lectern, liturgical vessels for Holy Communion, etc...

We are currently trying to set up a Chapel using an existing building next to where our Church was so that we can continue our regular weekday 9am Masses (Tues - Sat). Although the building can only host approximately 80-100 people, it will still allow our parish community to attend Mass together during the week. Unfortunately, we lost power to that building due to the fire at the Church and we now face an additional cost of approximately $9000 to arrange a new connection for the Chapel.

In the last few days, we have received requests from the community, near and far, as to how they can donate funds to assist our parish in our time of need - We hope that by setting up this Givealittle page for our parish, those who feel inclined to assist, can now do so. Although our building was covered by insurance, we did not have contents insurance.
