Stand with Blake in his fight against Stage-4 Cancer — Urgent Treatment Needed

  • Thank you for the generosity you showed in supporting Blake Wong-Ling

      19 April 2026

    Dear Friend,

Because of your kindness, the full amount needed for Blake’s treatment was raised. That support meant Blake & his family could pursue every possible option with hope & dignity. Your willingness to stand with them during such a difficult time will never be forgotten.

Blake underwent chemotherapy & started immunotherapy. His specialists believed the treatment offered real hope & did not expect the cancer to spread as quickly as it did.

Sadly, despite these efforts, Blake passed away peacefully, surrounded by those he loved. Yesterday, we laid him to rest.

Blake was a husband, son, brother, bishop, & mentor who quietly invested his time & care into others. The response over the past weeks reflected the life he lived & the impact he had on his community.

Before he passed, Blake decided the funds raised for his treatment should continue helping others.

In honour of his wishes, the funds will be shared between the ASB Polyfest leaders’ group, the PILOT (Pacific Island Leaders Of Tomorrow) programme, the NZ Cancer Society, & Hospice NZ, which cared for him in his final days.

Your support gave Blake every chance to fight, and it will now continue supporting causes & communities that mattered deeply to him.

On behalf of Leilana, Blake’s family & our family, thank you for your generosity, prayers & encouragement during this time. It brought real comfort to know that so many people cared for Blake & stood beside his family.

    With sincere gratitude,

    Teuila x

  • Because of you — Blake has started immunotherapy 🤍

      27 March 2026

Talofa lava, kia orana, mālō e lelei, fakaalofa lahi atu, kia ora aiga,

    We did it. 🤍

I’m still trying to find the words, because what we’ve witnessed over the past week has been something really special.

Because of you — your generosity, your prayers, your shares, your messages — Our brother Blake now has access to the treatment he needs.

Not only that… He has now started immunotherapy.

To even be able to say that feels surreal.

In such a short amount of time, our family, our friends, our wider communities across Aotearoa, the Pacific, and around the world, came together and carried this. Truly.

So many of you gave what you could.

    So many of you shared.

So many of you reached out with love and encouragement.

    And it all mattered.

    More than you probably realise.

This has not only made treatment possible — it has lifted Blake and Leilana in a way that is hard to put into words. They have felt your love.

This next chapter is now about healing, strength, and taking things one day at a time.

    Being surrounded by love.

    Resting.

Letting the treatment do what it needs to do.

We’ll continue to share updates here so those of you who stood with Blake can follow along on his journey.

Please continue to keep Blake and Leilana in your prayers as he begins this next phase.

From the bottom of our hearts — fa’afetai tele lava for standing with Blake.

    We did this.

    Together. 🤍

    Teuila x
