Raising funds to support my dad’s medical treatment and recovery
Waikato
Hi, my name is Lex, and I live in Hamilton, NZ.
I am reaching out to ask for your support for my father, who is overseas (Philippines) and whom I have not been with since 2019.
On March 13, he suffered a heart attack (myocardial infarction) and was taken to the hospital, where he underwent an angiogram and angioplasty. Since then, he has undergone 13 hemodialysis sessions.
On April 15, he was again rushed to the hospital and was diagnosed with metabolic encephalopathy - a term for brain dysfunction caused by systemic illnesses—such as organ failure and or infections.
My siblings and I, who are also supporting our own families, are finding it very challenging to provide for our father in the hospital, as well as for our mother, who suffers from severe arthritis, severe osteoporosis, severe scoliosis. They have no income or insurance and are relying solely on a pension, support from family, and the hope of limited government assistance.
We humbly ask for any support you can offer, whether through a donation or by sharing this message.
Thank you very much for your kindness and support.
Ngā mihi nui,
Lex

In Loving Memory of Archie 11 May 2026
My family and I are incredibly grateful for all the love and support you’ve shown my dad. On behalf of my family, thank you again for your kindness, love, and support during this difficult time.
I have now closed my Givealittle fundraising page, as my father passed away peacefully around 3:30am on Sunday morning (NZDT).
The funds raised will greatly help with the remaining hospital bills and funeral costs, and we are deeply thankful for every contribution, message, and prayer. Thank you all for standing with us and supporting our family.
Your message will be displayed on the page and emailed to the donor.
Your new message will also be emailed to the donor.
