Let down by the state who was ment to protect us even more by ignoring royal commissions recommendations

Lately, I've been struggling with a big hit to my confidence. Growing up in the state care system for 13 years left lasting impacts—some of which I’m still uncovering and working through today.

I am a survivor of childhood trauma and displacement, and while my past has shaped me, it doesn't define me. I’m doing everything I can to rebuild my life with purpose, stability, and hope. Part of that journey involves creating a safe space that truly feels like mine—something I’ve never really had.

I’m currently raising funds to purchase a reliable motorhome. For me, a traditional house still feels unstable—like it could be taken away at any moment. A home on wheels would give me a sense of security and freedom. It would allow me to live independently, access support services, attend mental health appointments, and most importantly, feel grounded in a space I can truly call my own.

I work seasonally so I would be living full-time in the motorhome. It’s not just a vehicle, but a crucial step in reclaiming control over my life.

Right now, I’m focused on reconnecting with my daughter, continuing therapy with my psychiatrist, and navigating sensitive claims through ACC. Every bit of support brings me closer to stability, healing, and rediscovering who I am.
