Thank you and a little bit about Reid
6 September 2018Thank you!!! Thank you all so much for you kind generosity so far, we really are starting to have real hope that we can provide Reid with the ongoing therapy he needs along with the surgery.
A little bit about Reid:
Reid was a much awaited baby, after 3 years of trying to conceive he showed up and chose us to be his parents. Reid had a rocky start and was born at 28weeks (only 6 months gestation) Reid spent a couple of months in NICU (Newborn Intensive Care Unit) on breathing assistance and getting all the medical help he needed. This was a very tough time for the family.
We found out early about his diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy which enabled us to start researching and learning therapy techniques from the start to give Reid the best shot utilizing as much brain power as possible in the early years.
Being thrown into the world of having a child with special needs has been challenging, but overall the ongoing experiences of not taking the small stuff for granted, celebrating every little milestone, cheering on all the correct physical movements they make and learning to have a whole new view of the world works has been incredible.
Reid never fails to make someone smile and his determination is inspiring, pushing through pain, pushing through frustration to gain confidence he didn’t know he has.
Thank you again for what you have done to help Reid xxxx
