Stock Route Construction Fundraiser: LINKING Palmerston N to the City to Sea Rail Trail

$1,270 of $45,500 goal
Given by 5 generous donors in 4 weeks

Stock Route construction fundraiser - Linking residence and visitors with regional Manawatu via off-road trails.

Manawatu / Whanganui

The Stock Route [850 metres] sits to the west of Longburn village. Originally the stock route was linked to Longburn frezzing works.

The "stock route" is a link, a connecting corridor between Palmerston North's shared pathway and the City to Sea Rail Trail south of Longburn. The Stock Route will safely enable commuters, walkers, cyclists, families, school children and travelers to move between the shared pathway and rail trail. RANO has already contributed $24,622.00 and working bees have reduced the construction fee by over $20,000.00. This campaign now needs community donations to raise the remaining $45,378.00. Our long term vision is a grade one off-road trail, 28 - 24 Kilometres, along the old Foxton - Longburn railway line linking Longburn with Himatangi and Foxton . The City to Sea Rail Trail will celebrate the region’s Māori and European heritage, fosters rural economic development and encourages & supports people to discover the lower Manawatu.

RANO funding needs to be spent by 8th Nov 2026 .

Our goal is to complete The Stock Route construction this summer 26 - 27.

Help us raise the final $45,378.00 needed - Donate today & Thank you in advance.
