Stop the boat ramp at Mapua

    Thanks in part to your contributions, we were able to fund an expert who was instrumental in the Commissioners' decision to decline the application to build a ramp at Mapua.

    Looking down the list I see the names of people who gave generously in other fundraising and also with their time.

    I see people who have visited Mapua and been enchanted by the waterfront, and I see lots of people who have chosen to remain anonymous.

    To you all, many thanks on behalf of the Friends of Mapua Waterfront. We had drinks on Sunday afternoon, and you wouldn't have found a happier group of people anywhere.

    There is a next stage - we now want to get together to map out how to turn the waterfront from something special to something spectacular!

  • Worth every cent

    The Friends of Mapua Waterfront Group have put in a huge effort to the hearings process, but Sally Gepp KC was just outstanding - she took the argument to the applicants and organised us all to make our submissions absolutely sing.

    Even though she's been incredibly generous with her time, we're still well short of the funds we need to pay her. The Friends submitters have all given generously of their time and money, we're really counting on you to express your support for them and the cause

    We're making great progress, 25% of the way there. Special thanks to Peter who has donated $1000 to this very important cause.

    A donation now will help us preserve this wonderful view - imagine what the view from the Appleshed will be like when dozens of boats are using a two-lane boat ramp sticking out into the estuary.

    We're getting ready for hearings starting November 27, and our experts are hard at work. They're being exceedingly generous with their time, but we're still short of funds.

    Please be as generous with your donation as they are with their expertise.
