People often ask us how they can help. Here's one way that you can help some of the families Dwell provides homes to. In time for Christmas presents and summer we are getting new sheds at one of our homes. We have two large families living in Dwell homes in Island Bay that need some extra space! Active kids means bikes and sports equipment and other items that need to be out of the house, and out of the rain. We hadn't planned on this expense but we really need to do this. Whatever amount you donate it will make a real and practical difference to kids and their families. A large Wellington tech company has volunteered their time and skill to assemble them - you can help out by donating to pay the cost of the sheds! Our families are very excited about this addition to their homes.
About us
Dwell Housing Trust provides affordable, quality housing for people in need or on a low income, and whose housing needs are not being met by other housing providers in the Wellington region. We are more than a landlord - we ensure our tenants have access to the support they need to live well, do well and be well.
We provide a range of housing services including social housing, supported housing for people experiencing mental illness, shared living for single people, and general needs affordable rental (below market) housing.
Dwell became operational in 2013 following the merger of Wellington Housing Trust and Mahora House Incorporated, who between them had more than 50 years experience in community housing. We carry on their great work in solving the housing crisis in the Wellington region.
Use of funds
All funds donated will pay the cost of the sheds.
