Free vet care, physiotherapy, pet essentials and grooming pet's of the homeless in Christchurch City.
Christchurch, Canterbury
The team at the Animal Physio NZ in Christchurch are running their annual project for the pet's of the homeless “Street Tails''. With this project, we are reaching out to help the homeless in Christchurch care for their pets. Many of the homeless people in Christchurch own pets and they play a big part in their lives. The pets are family and offer unconditional love, friendship, support and security. But owning a pet is costly and that is why we are reaching out to help!
The free services we will provide include a pop-up veterinary care clinic, physiotherapy treatments, grooming treatments, distribution of food, treats, toys, jackets and bedding and more. This event will be held at Christchurch City Mission.
The pets will get full nose-to-tail health checks, annual vaccinations, physiotherapy, flea treatment and worming treatment. Pets that need further medical care will be referred to partnering vet clinics. The pet's will be pampered with massage, grooming, nail clips and of course lots of cuddles and love and will receive many gifts such as warm jackets, blankets, beds, food, treats, toys, and a vet book. The owners will receive support, hot drinks and baked goods.
Thank you so much for your support!
Funds will be used for essential pet supplies, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments and medications and pets that need further veterinary care and treatments.
A Huge Thank You! 24 April 2024
We want to say a huge thank everyone that was involved and supported our Street Tails: Pet's Of The Homeless Project on Sunday. All volunteer work and donations are so appreciated 💙
We provided vet care including vaccinations and head to toe vet checks, flea and wormed & grooming to those that care so dearly for their pets, but sometimes struggle to afford it. All pets went home with some dry food, canned food, new toys, a new bed, treats, supplements and decked out with the latest collar, harness, leash and warm coat.
