Fundraising for future study overseas
Wellington
Kia Ora, my name is Natania Ngawhau. I have recently completed my Bachelor of Music, majoring in Classical Performance on tenor trombone at the New Zealand School of Music. Here I have studied primarily with Associate Principal Trombone of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Matthew Allison and Principal Bass Trombone, Shannon Pittaway. As a student, I have been privileged to have worked with groups such as the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Wellington, alongside various jazz, big band, brass bands and other ensembles. I was also the Principal trombone of this year’s 2023 National Youth Orchestra.
A couple of months ago, I auditioned and was accepted to study my Honours year at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (KUG) in Austria next year. My current plans will be to study here for six months to a year before making my way back to NZ to complete my remaining courses.
Please consider helping me get to Austria to play some trombone by donating to my Givealittle page. Funds donated to this page will aid in travel to and from Austria as well as living and study expenses. This will benefit my career and trombone playing by creating new connections and opportunities to further my knowledge and experience in the world of music. I hope studying in Austria will have a huge impact on my future development as an aspiring orchestral musician and teacher.
