Subarachnoid haemorrhage

Hello everyone,

My name is Balraj Singh, and I live in Christchurch, New Zealand.

I am reaching out with a very heavy heart to ask for your support during a difficult time for my family. I recently brought my mother to New Zealand on a visitor visa. About a month after her arrival, she suddenly suffered a serious stroke last Sunday night and collapsed at home.

We rushed her to Christchurch Hospital, where doctors diagnosed her with a subarachnoid haemorrhage (a type of brain bleed). Her condition worsened, and she required emergency surgery. She is currently in the ICU, and it has now been four days—she is still unconscious.

This has been an extremely distressing time for us. Unfortunately, we did not have travel or medical insurance for her. We have already received a hospital bill of around $110,000 for the first few days, and doctors have advised she may need to stay for several more weeks. The total estimated cost could reach $200,000 or more.

After discussing with the doctor today, they advised that your mother will need to stay in the ICU for at least 10 to 14 days. This will increase the total cost to approx 300K–350K minimum.

I am the sole earner in my family, and this amount is far beyond what I can manage on my own. I am humbly asking for any support you can offer—whether it is a donation or simply sharing this message with others.
