Help fund a submission to MPI regarding the proposed new Import Health Standard which fails to protect the NZ floriculture industry.
The Ministry of Primary Industries has invited submissions to be made on a new Import Health Standard for Cut Flowers and Foliage for Decorative Purposes by 28th February 2025.
In its current form, the proposed new Import Health Standard, fails to protect the NZ floriculture industry from a pest risk or trade perspective. The Cut Flower Industry has no representative body to prepare a submission providing evidence of this.
Van Lier Nurseries and United Flower Growers (CEO Pete Brown) have been heading the submission on behalf of the industry. It is a very busy time currently, so I have been asked to set the page up. UFG is contacting all growers as they sell growers flowers and have the database and they have engaged the consultant.
We encourage you to donate any dollar value to fund the engagement of a professional consultant to write this submission on behalf of NZ cut flower growers, florists, wholesalers and flower distributors.
United Flower Growers is engaging a consultant to prepare a submission to MPI on behalf of the cut flower industry.
As a business within the industry, Van Lier Nurseries has created this page to support the cause. As we have no industry body, United Flower Growers is facilitating the collection of funds for the submission on behalf of the cut flower industry.
All money will fund the engagement of a professional consultant to write this submission on behalf of NZ cut flower growers, florists, wholesalers and flower distributors.
