The sudden and tragic passing of 20-year-old Navinesh (Nick) Sharma on Sunday, January 19th, 2025, has left a gaping hole in the hearts of his family and friends. This vibrant young man, whose selfless dedication to his loved ones was an inspiration to all, was taken from the world far too soon.
Nick, an Fijian Indian immigrant who arrived in New Zealand 10 years ago, embodied the spirit of family. From juggling part-time jobs to caring for his younger siblings while excelling in high school and pursuing his diploma, Nick demonstrated a maturity and wisdom beyond his years. He was a pillar of strength for his family, guiding them through life's challenges with unwavering love and support.
His kindness extended beyond his immediate circle. Nick's warm heart and infectious smile touched everyone he encountered at school and within his community. He was a beloved son, brother, and friend, and his loss is deeply felt by all who knew him.
This devastating tragedy has left his parents and three younger siblings heartbroken and struggling to cope. As they navigate this unfathomable grief, they need our support more than ever.
Let's come together as a community to honor Nick's memory and support his grieving family.
