SUPERMUMS - a group for mothers and dysregulated children.
Some children live on emotional rollercoasters. Anxiety and emotional dysregulation seem to be becoming a bigger problem for children all over NZ. This makes it hard to learn at school, to maintain friendships and to connect with family. Their parents often feel overwhelmed, stuck and unable to change their child's behaviour.
At Blue Brush Therapy we have decided to create a therapeutic group to support mothers and children how to co-regulate and connect in playful, meaningful ways. We know from experience that once children and mothers change their connections and strengthen their relationships that a lot of those "problem behaviours" disappear. But that is really hard to do if you're feeling overwhelmed and unsure about what to do.
We have created SUPERMUMS to teach co-regulation skills and a safe place to practise them - to successfully use the skills in the group. The groups will be small – a maximum of four parents and four children.
Your support will pay the fees for families who cannot afford the fees and also really need help with their children.
We will use whatever money is raised to reduce the costs for everyone referred to SUPERMUMS. We need to raise $5,670 to start with 8 families. If we raise more than this we will offer more SUPERMUMS groups.
Our dream is to continue expanding this program. If you want to get involved, please contact us. If you think you'd like to attend this group with your child, please contact us.
Any money raised will be used to pay in full or in part the SUPERMUMS support group costs. If we raise $5,670 we can support 8 families - 2 groups of 4 families. The more money raised, the more groups we can offer. The more families we can help.
