A practical way to support Abby during Lizzie's final days.
Christchurch, Canterbury
Abby's youngest child, Elizabeth, was diagnosed with a rare form of Ewing's Sarcoma of the pancreas when she was 18 months old. Three years later, Lizzie is in her final days.
The support Abby and her whanau have received throughout this journey has been incredible. Lizzie has, during her short life, attracted a tribe of dedicated supporters who recognise what a special child Lizzie is and who have helped Abby make the most of every single day.
Abby has dedicated herself to caring for Elizabeth throughout this long journey. She has sacrificed her career, and spared no expense in bringing Elizabeth and her brothers as much normality and joy as possible.
Many of you have asked how you can help. Donating to Abby is a practical way you can do so. Please know there is no obligation, and we appreciate support in all forms - a hug, kind words, helping with the boys, or donating here.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Abby is my big sister.
This money provides Abby with some breathing space as she navigates Lizzie's final days and supports her boys in adjusting to life without Liz. It will allow her time to resume her career when she and her boys are ready.
$24,565 raised - THANK YOU!!! 6 December 2021
Wow, everyone.... Collectively, this community raised $24,565 for Abby. It is, quite literally, incredible. I hope that each and every one of you realise that you have changed her life by giving so generously. Thank you.
By now, you'll likely know that Lizzie died on the 19th of November, with her family by her side and their love wrapped around her. We celebrated her life a week later.
And so, now what? Well, it's clear that Abby must move forward with her life, and write the next chapter in her story. What's not yet clear is what the next chapter looks like. With your support, Abby doesn't have to figure that out just yet. You've gifted her time to grieve, reflect, heal, prepare.
Whatever Abby does next, I know she'll do it with the love and support of the community that have shared in her journey until now. Thank you for being that community.
Much love to you all,
Dana
