Support Bella on her Road to Berlin

$12,008 of $12,000 goal
Given by 111 generous donors in around 3 months

Support Bella Lammers to compete at the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin in June.

Rolleston, Canterbury

After two decades of endless laps up and down the swimming pool, Bella Lammers has been selected to represent New Zealand at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Berlin this June.

The World Games will not only be the pinnacle of Bella’s swimming career, but also an invaluable, lifechanging event to enhance her independence and confidence.

The 21-year-old from Rolleston has competed in the pool since primary school and recently attended her second National Summer Games where she won a gold medal in breaststroke.

Over 7000 athletes with intellectual disabilities from 150 countries will compete in Berlin, but unlike other sporting organisations, Special Olympics does not receive any Government funding.

To compete at the World Summer Games, each athlete needs to contribute $18,000 for travel, accommodation, training camps in NZ and Germany, as well the cost associated with support staff.

Bella has touched thousands of people, who are all just as excited about her Olympic adventure, and many have asked how they can support on her Road to Berlin.

This Give-A-Little page is an opportunity for Bella’s supporters to chip in whatever they are able to give. Bella’s family will contribute $6000, and hopes to raise the $12,000 shortfall through fundraising.

All funds raised will go towards Bella’s training and travel, and if we are fortunate to raise more than our target, the remainder will be paid forward to other Canterbury athletes travelling with Bella.
