Support Damian's Journey to the 2024 IPF World Junior Powerlifting Championship in Malta!

Hi everyone!

I am thrilled to announce that I have been selected to represent New Zealand in the 59kg class at the 2024 IPF World Junior Powerlifting Championship in Malta on September 1st!

At 21 years old and in my final year as a Civil Engineering student, balancing my studies, working part-time, and pursuing competitive powerlifting has been challenging but incredibly rewarding. My dedication and discipline have led me to achieve significant milestones in my powerlifting career.

Last year at Nationals, I temporarily broke the National Squat Junior Record at 176kg and secured 2nd place. Currently, I hold the Auckland Squat Junior and Open Record at 177.5kg, the Deadlift Junior Record at 215kg, and the Total Junior Record at 490kg, achieved at Auckland Cup and Auckland Champs. My goal is to perform my best at the World Championship and break several National Records!

However, the opportunity to compete on the international stage poses financial challenges. Powerlifting in New Zealand is a non-funded sport, meaning all expenses, including flights, accommodation, the NZ Team Uniform, and registration fees, are self-funded. Your support would mean the world to me, helping to alleviate the financial stress and allowing me to focus on my training and performance.
