Support dog rescue from the meat trade

The Blue Dream Shelter in Buriram, Thailand was set up by Michael Chour in 2017. The shelter is home to abused street dogs and dogs saved from the meat trade in Cambodia. Lisa has been an avid follower of Michael and the shelter since finding out about his work 3 years ago.

Many updates posted online by Michael are heartbreaking stories of dogs that were once someone’s beloved pet that have been stolen for sale to the dog meat trade and dogs that were street roamers that have been abused by cruel individuals for their entertainment. These dogs have been living in awful conditions, caged, riddled with infection, worms and broken bones.

Lisa spent hours watching videos and following stories of the Blue Dream shelter and Michael’s hard work saving these dogs and providing a loving and safe environment for them. Michael’s passion for helping these animals really struck a chord with Lisa. Having always been passionate about animal welfare, Lisa decided that she couldn’t sit back and watch from afar as Michael and a team of volunteers spent their days doing all they could to give these dogs a better life, she needed to do something.

Lisa introduced Sam to Michael’s work and the Blue Dream shelter in 2018. Lisa was determined to help, and the pair decided to travel to Buriram in Thailand to volunteer their time caring for the rescued dogs. Through the help of the many volunteers at the shelter, plans were set in motion for Lisa and Sam to spend a week volunteering at the shelter in October 2019.

But we need your help too!! Lisa and Sam have completely funded the trip to Thailand themselves but are raising money for the shelter. Food, medicine and general amenities for the shelter don’t come cheap and the team relies completely on donations and volunteers to stay up and running.
