Support Ellesmere's 1913 Heritage Band Hall
Leeston, Canterbury
The Ellesmere Big Band is one of the oldest bands in the South Island, originating as the Ellesmere Brass Band in 1902. After the addition of saxes and rhythm in 2004, the band has developed into the swinging Big Band you see today! With members from all walks of life and many of who travel from Christchurch to rehearse, the Ellesmere Big Band is a proud part of the Ellesmere community.
The Ellesmere Brass Band Hall was built in 1913 after much fundraising. It is doing very well for its age and is 113 years old this year! The band's main costs are for the upkeep of this heritage hall and all donations are gratefully received. The band hall is well known and has featured in many articles and photos of the district. It is our honour to rehearse surrounded by the photos of past band members and instrument memorabilia of the past 124 years.
Thank you for helping us keep this important landmark going for another 113 years!
