Rewa is a hockey club based in Nelson NZ.

Established in 1919, it has a deep local history and is currently one team of ladies.

An amazing team of strong, spirited, and supportive wahine who love their hockey.

Halfway through our 2023 season, Marie, one of our team mates was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.

This unexpected news really shook the team, and as a close knit group of woman we decided to come up with ways to support.

We as a team decided to set up this Give A Little page to raise some funds to ease some financial pressure while Marie undergoes intensive treatment so she can concentrate on healing without the stress of having return to work before she’s ready.

She is one of the strongest people we know and if anyone can beat this, she can! We are counting on her to be back on the turf with us next season!!

Kia Ora whanau and friends just letting you know I'm in for my surgery (double mastectomy and reconstruction) up in Hutt hospital on 16th of January. My operation is at 7am and it will be around 5hrs.

Update 9pm Tuesday 16th February 2024

So I'm in the ward now and the operation went well according to Dr Chris Adam's plastics and my breast surgeon Dr Susan Seifried two of the best in the country, how lucky am I to have such a legend team!!!!

Now to recover and hopefully head home Friday.
