Helping Bree focus on healing, family, and recovery after urgent brain surgery.
Tauranga, Bay Of Plenty
Bree is a 25-year-old mum, wife, and deeply loved family member living with a rare condition called Neurofibromatosis Type 2. With very short notice, Bree will undergo brain surgery on February 10th to remove a left frontal lobe tumour that has doubled in size over the past year. The tumour is putting pressure on her brain, putting her at high risk of a seizure, so the doctors are removing the entire tumour along with part of her frontal lobe.
The surgery will take around five hours, followed by up to a week in hospital recovery — time spent away from her two young boys, Rhain (3) and Lennox (11 months), and her husband Vinny.
Bree is a registered nurse, but she will need to be off work for up to three months while she recovers. This will significantly reduce the family’s income and place added financial pressure on them during an already overwhelming time.
We are asking for any support, big or small, to help ease the challenges Bree and her family may face, so she can focus on what matters most — healing, recovery, and being with her family. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during this challenging time.
Kia ora and hello, my name is Skye Bates. I am Brees younger sister and I am the one who created this page on behalf of my family.
The money raised will be spent on everyday living to support her two children.
