Extending a hand to support the Freeman clan
Hastings, Hawke's Bay
After being rushed to Wellington Hospital with a ruptured aneurysm, Dan is making an incredible recovery — a true testament to his strength and resilience. But he’s not out of the woods yet.
The journey ahead is still long, and the financial toll of living away from home is mounting. Friends and whānau have been extraordinary — Damian flew in from Western Australia, Ceridwyn and Bridget have been traveling down as often as they can, the boys are giving their all from Hawke’s Bay, and the wonderful Jocelyn has been the unwavering anchor through it all.
There’s been a heartfelt wish from many to offer support. If you’re in a position to help, please consider chipping in. Every bit will go a long way in easing the burden and helping Dan and his family focus on what truly matters — his healing and recovery.
Thank you for your aroha and generosity.

In case you haven’t heard, Dan has returned to Hastings. After spending a couple of days in hospital, he was discharged home and has now happily settled back into his familiar surroundings.
His recovery will be a long journey, but the arrival of spring—with its sense of renewal, returning light, and gentle warmth—brings much-needed support and encouragement for healing.
The family are close by, with Joce lovingly by his side. Visitors are welcome, and we truly appreciate your kindness in keeping visits short to help Dan conserve his energy.
