Hi Angelique, I'm at The Press in Christchurch. We're so sorry to hear about Hannah's passing away. Would you be willing to talk to us to honour her memory? Thank you, Anna

Dottie asks

Hi Angelique! Apologies for the wrong info I got earlier. Someone was misinformed (who was apologetic) and relayed it to our Filipino group but I explained that Hannah is still alive which we’re all praying for esp her quick recovery. Thank you, Lord!

Thank you for replying. Please text or call me at 021431026 if I can be of any assistance to the mother and sister. I can provide a spare room and vehicle for them to use.

Myrna asks

I was in the Hospital twice today, in the morning bring food and afternoon was there as well to check if Hanna's mom need some winter Jacket. I didn't try to talk to the family to give them time alone.

At the moment all we can do is prayer for the family that God give them strength.

Hi Angelique! I’ve heard that Hannah Ramosa passed away today! My sincere condolences to her family esp her parents who arrived today. Could you please let us know if there will be a wake for her in Christchurch? Where and when please? Thank you for your help. God bless, Dottie

Angelique

Hi Dottie, im sorry but we have not heard this news just yet and im not quite sure where it is coming from. The family is currently not talking to anyone as they would like to spend time with just the family. I will definitely post an update once i know more. Thank you.

Rainbow asks

Hi there,

Does the mother have a place to stay here in Christchurch? I am half Filipino and can offer a spare room for her and help to transport to the hospital. Has there been anyone staying with Hannah in hospital as I would be interested in offering any support as I know how hard it is to be in the hospital by yourself.

Angelique

Hi Rainbow, thank you for your comment. I will definitely pass this onto the family as they are currently closed for communication from anyone. They would like to spend a few hours with the family only. I will let you know once I know more. Thank you so much! Its very much appreciated.

Have they contacted the Philippine Embassy in New Zealand? The ATN department can provide assistance.

Angelique

Hi PT, yes the family is currently liaising with the embassy in Christchurch. We are currently trying to seek assistance from a lot of agencies. Thank you so much for the suggestions. I will keep everyone up to date in this page.

Angeli asks

Would Hannah not be covered by public healthcare? She would be eligible if she is a person who holds a work visa that entitles her to remain in New Zealand for a period of time which, together with the time she has already been lawfully in New Zealand immediately prior to obtaining the visa, equals or exceeds two years...

Angelique

Hi Angeli, Thank you for your question. We are currently liaising with the hospital to see which medical treatment is covered or not and if all of it is. Hannah is a student. She does not have a working visa. I am trying to currently get updates from the family so that I can update this page with more information however, due to the circumstances it is taking quite some time, Thank you for sending us the link though, it is very helpful. Thanks for your support!

Chris asks

Does the mum need assistance with the visa application?

Angelique

I believe they were able to expedite the visa application(via a social worker). Her mother is now on their way here. Thank you so much for the offer! :)
