They are Great friends of ours and we just want to make the next few months easier for them while Jeremy fights Cancer.
Nationwide
Jeremy and Ayako found a few weeks ago that Jeremy has Colon Cancer. The day after hearing this life changing news they had a meeting with Jeremy's Oncologist and the plan was for surgery within a month. The following day his pain got worse and he was taken into Frankton Hospital in Queenstown. He was then transferred to Southland Hospital into Emergency Department and was put on the acute list for surgery. Two days later at 8am he was told he was going to surgery immediately. During surgery his Colon and a good part of his bowel was removed along with many lymph nodes. Surgery went well and Jeremy was released back home to recover and wait for his results from surgery.
Two weeks later Jeremy was flown to Christchurch Hospital to meet with an Oncology Team to hear his results. Jeremy has Colon Cancer - advanced stage 3C.
Jeremy is currently in Christchurch Hospital and about to begin a very intensive six month chemotherapy treatment plan.
Ayako, with their two young children, Christopher and Nicola, have also had to move to Christchurch and are now setting up close by so that they can be near Jeremy during this very difficult time.
As you can imagine, this is an incredibly hard time for Jeremy, Ayako and their young family, moving cities, adjusting to new schools, all whilst going into a difficult environment.
They are taking one step at a time.
We have set this page up to allow Jeremy and Ayako's friends to support them through this tough time so they can be together as a family.
We appreciate your support and love for Jeremy, Ayako, Christopher and Nicola xxx
Jeremy and Ayako are good friends and Jeremy is also my cousin. They have 2 young children and this is an incredibly hard time for them as a young family to be going through such a big change in their life.
Funds will be used for helping with easing day to day financial stress so they can stay together as a family while Jeremy receives treatment.
End of Chemotherapy 27 May 2019
Jeremy's chemotherapy done and dusted!!!
Last day of Jeremy's chemotherapy was last Friday 24th May.
We are all so very proud of Jeremy and his family for all they have achieved over the last 6 months. So much for them all to overcome emotionally and physically.
They are now heading into an unknown future, but after the strength and courage they have shown us over the past 6 months Jeremy and his family can do this.
Thank you so much to everyone for their support in all the ways that you have done this. It's so very much appreciated by Jeremy and his family.
Time for Jeremy and his family to get back into their lifestyle and love the life the live.
