Support for John (Pops) Butler's Family
To honor John Butler (Pops)

John Butler (Pops) collapsed on Monday 19th of August in Australia and was put on life support with an irreversible brain bleed. John's sister and a niece travelled from NZ to be with him in his final days. Sadly John passed away on Wednesday 21st of August in Perth but was able to donate his 2 kidneys to help others.
John had always wanted to come home to NZ and with a lot of help we have been able to honor that wish. John arrived back into NZ on Thursday 29th August and a funeral will be held for John in Whakatane on Saturday 31st of August at 11am. Funeral details are in link below.
As requested this page has been set up for John's work mates to be able to do a collection for the family.

I am John's niece Toni who travelled to Perth with Valina, John's sister to be with John in his final days. Uncle John kept my dad out of trouble while my dad was alive so it has been a pleasure to be able to be there for John in his final days.
Use of funds
John's sister Valina has incurred a lot of expenses in relation to getting us to Perth to be by his side and to honor his wishes of being an organ donor. Money will go towards our flights then any additional funds will be donated to DonateLife.

Laid to rest 4 September 2024
Was a bit rainy and cold on Saturday but we did it uncle John. You are back in NZ and have been laid to rest up at the Hillcrest cemetery in Whakatane.
