Support for Mackenzie on her Journey to recovery

    Update from Rochelle- 4 weeks since we first presented to hospital - a period of time that I seriously thought would never happen to me - appreciating all the long hours and hard work the nurses and doctors put in and the relationships u build with complete strangers. The people’s shoulders you cry on and the people that can make you tear up just by looking at you.

    Last week Mackenzie went down hill again, uncomfortable and spasmy at night mostly with minimal sleep for everybody. She has had some more IVIG on Friday and Saturday which is just starting to kick in and she is much more comfortable again - she can have IVIG every 2-3 weeks if she plateaus or gets worse.

    Some days are harder than others but the smile just keeps us positive and pushing forward 🥰

    13th -16th Feb

    Thursday and Friday were pretty rough days for Kenzie (she’s not pooping properly) and was super uncomfortable but got that sorted on Thursday evening (Chance has to deal with that as I zoomed home to get the kids 💩😳)

    We had planned an outing to the sky tower this weekend but the drs said cause she was so unsettled on thirsday/Friday she wasn’t allowed to go. On Saturday she was GOOD! A bit of sibling time and some besties visiting (thanks Brady family😘🥰) and the Doctor decided she could go! So we went for a bus trip to the sky tower and back 🚌. Amazing what friends can do to lift the spirit💕.

    Another big week this coming week of trying to get some rehab plans in place hopefully - probably another few weeks at starship yet by the sounds. She’s moving in the right direction but is up and down and things change each day, some days she can do something and then not the next - it’s just going to be a long process but we got this 💪 thanks for all your love and support x and if you happened to donate on the give a little page , thank you 🙏 I’m absolutely humbled and blown away - Mackenzie WILL be ok and get the rehab she needs + more 😘

    Wow, all your love and support is amazing! Thanks for all your beautiful well wishes and messages. I've been told that Mackenzie had a good day today, her second venture outside in her special chair, and a shower, of which she loved! The outside adventures are extremely good for her spirits.
