Help them pay for unfunded anti-cancer treatment
Auckland
Four weeks ago, Mike was diagnosed with advanced, aggressive brain cancer for which he has had surgery, commenced chemotherapy and is about to start radiotherapy. This has devastated Mike, his wife Annie, their families, friends and colleagues. Presently, there is enormous uncertainty surrounding Mike’s prognosis and future.
By contrast, six months ago, Mike and Annie welcomed their beautiful daughter Millie into the world. This was a highlight of their lives and Millie continues to bring them constant joy and delight during this difficult and uncertain time. Mike is a loving family man and loyal friend to many; all of whom will attest to his cheeky sense of humour and amazingly positive attitude. He has dedicated his young professional life to helping others.
As a consequence of Mike’s diagnosis, he has now had to stop work in order to undergo treatment. Annie is currently on maternity leave. They face the prospect of self-funding expensive unfunded anti-cancer medications to help control his cancer in order to have as much time with Annie and Millie as possible. Amidst coming to terms with this tragic reality, there is significant financial stress for their family.
Annie and Mike are not ones to ask for help, but they need our support more than ever. One way in which we can help their beautiful young family is to ease some of their financial challenges. If you can, we ask you to “Give a Little”.

Primarily these funds will be used to pay for unfunded anti-cancer treatments including bevacizumab (Avastin), which Mike is commencing right away. Additional funds will be used to support their family financially during this extremely difficult time.
An update from Mike and Annie 7 June 2022
We are overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity. Family, friends, colleagues and strangers - you have sent us well wishes, and shown us your love and support through this dark time. We cannot thank you enough.
An update on treatment: Radiation and Avastin are underway and Mike is feeling pretty good. Millie is loving spending more time with her Dad.
Thank you all for everything
Mike, Annie and Millie
