Support for Pam, Jon, Benny & Ollie

Pam, her husband Jon and young boys Benny & Ollie are a lovely family from the Bay of Plenty. Pam has been severely unwell since August 2021, with multiple hospital visits, tests and her health deteriorating resulting in a 10-week hospital stay in April/May 2022.

When Pam went to hospital that time, it was thought she was going to regain her nutrition and be physically healthy enough for surgery to fix her stomach. Turns out, Pam is suffering from severe gasteoparesis of her stomach (it's not working at all), alongside dysmotility of her small intestines. And to add insult to injury, they have also just discovered that her large bowels have something wrong too.

In September 2023, after being referred as an urgent case (still a 17-month wait), Pam saw Dr Fraser Burling and was diagnosed with classical EDS. There is still a lot of uncertainty regarding Pam's health.

It is a long and uncertain road ahead and any assistance for this single-income family will take the pressure off at this most difficult time, including costs for very expensive tests and on-going specialist appointments which are not publically funded nor privately covered.
