$1,598 donated

To replace lost items in a house flood and to cover any costs for the damage that was caused also food. We have no insurance to cover these

Wellington

We woke up at 1:30 with heavy rain and our neighbour knocking at our door yelling that there is flooding. Within minutes water was coming up through the floor and from the front door, We didn’t have time to save valuables. Our main focus was getting our 13 week old baby to the neighbours. Anything below 2 feet off the ground is soaked and electronics ruined. We lost baby toys and blankets, along with our furniture which we are now attempting to dry what we can. We have been told that the house may end up being unsuitable to live in, which we are currently renting. We have only just moved up from christchurch in august so most of our stuff was brand new. We don’t have any insurance to cover the stuff lost as we have only recently moved up and have been busy with baby. We aren’t asking for a lot, Just some support to replace lost baby items, valuable items and to cover accomodation costs. We thank you in advance for any support given.

Use of funds

To purchase lost baby essentials, Valuable items and to cover any costs that the damage has caused. Also if need be, To get bond to relocate to a new home. We don’t have any insurance to cover the things we have lost.

Accomodation   9 March 2018

We have found a salvation army house until we can find somewhere to rent. If anyone in Kapiti knows of a place under $400 P/W for rent please let us know. The house will take about 6 months to fix and we can’t stay at the salvation army house until then so we are looking for longterm. We have been donated baby items but we still have roughly over atleast $4000 worth of damaged items to replace. We give a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us and donated during this difficult time for us.
