MIla and her friend were invited to Cristina and Jerome's farm for a ride on Cristina's ponies. What a lovely sunny morning, the kids had playing with her nieces and nephew, being led around the yard on the ponies, jumping on the in-built trampoline, playing in shady sheds. Even using the compostible sawdust toilets were a new experience for us visitors. Gaita sat by, watching the children play, catching up on a few brush strokes whenever offered.
Regarding the Court case against Gaita and her owners, I have been asked by the Givealittle moderator to point out to all generous sponsors that, following several anonymous complaints a few weeks ago, some detail in the original Overview were changed to clarify the legal situation. Cristina's first language is Spanish, her second French, and I am an English speaker, so the original text was based on my understanding of the explanation provided to me in English.
The current Overview reads: "Gaita is in legal trouble due to an argument she and her brother got into with a neighbour's dog. The neighbour's dog was injured. The neighbours/Auckland Council have taken her owner to Court."
Originally I had written: "Gaita is in legal trouble due to an argument she and her brother got into with a neighbour's dog, while on Gaita's own property. The neighbour's dog was injured on a fence, but has fully recovered. The neighbours want Gaita and her brother put down and have taken her owner to Court."
I refer you to Stuff media who were able to access and report on Court proceedings: https://www.stuff.co.nz/auckland/110271766/waiheke-woman-goes-on-a-hunger-strike-to-save-her-pet-dog . However the Court has declined Givealittle's request for publication.
