Any amount, will have a profound impact and allow the family to focus on what matters—giving Goran the best possible chance to beat cancer.
Devonport, Auckland
Goran moved to Devonport, Auckland in the early 90s from Macedonia, seeking better opportunities. He worked as the head chef at a local restaurant. During a visit to Macedonia in 2003, he met Alex, and together they decided to settle in Devonport and start their life as a married couple. Over the years, their family grew, and they were blessed with three beautiful children. For the past eight years, Goran and Alex have passionately co-owned a local restaurant, which has become the heart of their livelihood.
Earlier this year, Goran received the devastating diagnosis of cholangiocarcinoma (pancreatic cancer)—a shocking turn of events for someone who has always been fit and healthy. The family was suddenly thrust into a whirlwind of difficult decisions. Doctors recommended an extensive and complex surgery involving the full reconstruction of Goran’s stomach, pancreas, and bowels, followed by intensive chemotherapy, to give him the best chance of survival.
Now, after enduring multiple surgeries, treatments, and complications, the family faces an urgent need for financial support as Goran’s cancer has unfortunately returned, and his battle continues. Their savings have been exhausted, and with Goran unable to work at the restaurant, it has become increasingly difficult for them to manage daily expenses. Although Goran and Alex are too proud to ask for help, I, as someone who sees them regularly, know that financial assistance would make a significant difference in their lives.
My name is Irina, and I'm reaching out on behalf of my closest and dearest friends—Goran, his wife Alex, and their three wonderful children.
We are asking for your support to help cover the costs of Goran’s care while the family explores all avenues of treatment. Every donation will go directly towards medical bills (IV treatment), transportation, and living expenses. Funeral costs.
