Help Graham keep fighting cancer. His battle shouldn't end here; he needs a new $11,238/month treatment for more time with loved ones.
Christchurch, Canterbury
My dad, Graham, is the heartbeat of our family—a devoted husband, father, friend, and grandad. He’s shaped me as a father and is always there for us. Now, we want to be there for him.
In March 2020, as COVID lockdowns began, Dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 bowel cancer. It was devastating. Being unable to see family during those early stages was heart-wrenching. Since then, he’s fought tirelessly: chemotherapy and radiotherapy began in March 2020, followed by liver and colorectal surgeries, another liver surgery in 2021, and more chemo in 2023, 2024, and 2025. He’s endured over 35 scans—yet faces each challenge with a smile, determined to stay with us.
What’s inspired us most is the way Dad and Mum have faced this together. Their mindset has always been that they can “beat” this, even if it was just a way to keep going. Yet, the cancer has now spread further, and chemo is no longer effective. A new, unfunded treatment costing $11,238 a month could give Dad up to a year with his grandchildren and family. Dad received his life insurance payout early on, but after years of living costs and not working due to fatigue and treatment effects, it’s gone. We never expected to need help, but we’re here, hoping for more time. We’d love for Mum and Dad to make memories, maybe take a holiday—they deserve it.
Please donate or share to help Dad remain our grandad, dad, and husband. Thank you.
