The Vincent's have outpoured so much, let's get behind them!
Bay of Plenty
Karena Vincent
She’s our love. She is a Wife, a Mum, a Granny, a Sister, a Daughter, a Cousin, a Friend, a Teacher, a Mentor, and Hero. She’s known for her incredible love for others, her amazing creativity and her words. Words of encouragement, love, guidance, wisdom, always uplifting, always kind.
For 22 years they ran Cool Bananas Youthwork Trust which saw thousands of kids, through weekly events, learning that they are valued, and loved by God. Since then, Grant has been working as a builder and Karena has been working for ‘Good Neighbour’ in the Whanau Care Team which is all about connecting people in need with people that can help them. She is always encouraging people through words and actions from a place of struggle, to a place where they are thriving and full of hope.
Karena was taken into ED after her words started slurring as she tried to form sentences. That evening, the world seemed to stop as the doctor diagnosed Karena with a fast growing brain tumour (stage 4).
Over the 3 weeks since the diagnosis she has lost her ability to speak, to write and many motor skills. Karena needs someone with her around the clock to help do daily tasks. Grant is now unable to work as he helps to look after Karena. Treatment is scheduled immediately. Grant and Karena have lost both their incomes in a very short space of time.
They are a couple that have given so much. Let's show our support to them.
Representing the Board of Good Neighbour.
To financially support Grant and Karena who are committed to the health and restoration of Karena and are unable to work at this time.
