Support Hauraki Skate - Paeroa, Norwood Rd Skate Park Renovation, We Need Concrete Grinding

Hauraki Skate is a small group of skateboarders in the Paeroa / Hauraki Community.

Our goal is to grow skateboarding in the local community. Our first mission is to create a fun, safe and user friendly skating environment.

We have decided to put our energy into the original Norwood rd skatepark.

We have been working hard already renovating the space and have gathered interest by the youth & community where we now have a skate school on Wednesdays at 3.30pm.

The ‘big job’ that needs to be done is a Professional Diamond Grind (Concrete Grinding)

The benefits of a Concrete Grind are massive. From safety to usability, presentation and preservation. The concrete is rough. Our main focus is making it safe, smooth and useable for the new skaters and kids using the park. For the size of this park it’s a small job for the professionals and we believe it’s possible to raise the funds with support from the local community & skateboarding community.

The amount we need is $9000.00.

We have approached Hauraki District Council, they have been great and support our vision. We asked about funding but the timeframe for when we can get funding was going to take awhile so we thought let’s try a give a little.

This will be a transformation of the space bringing the concrete to a nice smooth finish for the community to use for years to come!
