Join our community of online child protectors - support Netsafe's Hector's World online safety programme for Kiwi tamariki!
Nationwide
Hector's World, brought to life by Netsafe, is a comprehensive new online safety programme and animated series that provides teachers, parents and whānau with free resources to help support the online well-being of 400,000+ New Zealand tamariki between the ages of 5-10.
Available in English and Te Reo Māori, Hector's World addresses the current gap in online safety education for this vulnerable age group, and covers topics impacting children such as:
• Online privacy, safety, and security
• Cyberbullying
• Balancing online and offline time
• Consent
• Digital footprint and identity
• Mis and disinformation
It's a vital harm prevention tool designed to promote online safety among New Zealand's youngest internet users.
Even fictional dolphins need quite a bit of looking after behind the scenes and every dollar advances our mission to protect Kiwi kids online. Support Netsafe’s ongoing work on the Hector’s World programme including school visits from Hector, updating our suite of resources for parents and schools, translations into more languages and more!

Hector's World Launch a great success 9 May 2024
On May 1, 2023 Netsafe officially launched Hector's World as our gift to the tamariki of Aotearoa. Joined by special guests from the Ministry of Education, Microsoft and Parliament, along with local leaders, iwi, school children and their families, we set the stage for Hector's World to make its mark in 2024 and beyond.
It was such a special event.
The creation of Hector's World has been made possible through the generosity of sponsors and individual donors, just like you!
But there's much more work to do, to get this fantastic free programme out into the community, in front of every family and classroom - help us on our journey and make a real difference to the digital wellbeing of our kids now and in the future.
Thank you so much Carol, your support is greatly appreciated :-)
