Netsafe New Zealand

Netsafe helps Kiwis experiencing online harm and provides online safety education and assistance nationwide.

Nationwide

Netsafe is a national not-for-profit organisation that has been operating for 25 years with a mission to keep New Zealander's safe online.

In today’s increasingly digital world, this mission has never been more important, with more and more New Zealanders falling victim to scams, bullying, child grooming, impersonation, and threatening behaviour via social media and other channels. Every day the news brings us stories of online incidents that have led to adverse outcomes for the victims, including financial loss, mental health impact and even more serious implications.

In each of these instances, Netsafe is there to help and is often the first point of contact for those who have suffered online harm. The free online harm helpline provides confidential advice and support, including a dispute resolution service to the people of Aotearoa seven days a week. On average we receive and assist with 28,000 reports of harm each year.

In addition, each year Netsafe runs sessions with schools and community groups nationwide providing important online safety advice and practical resources.

Our work is wide-reaching, and the need is high. With your support, we can help more New Zealanders and ensure a safe online experience for all.

R:SCAM is Back!  17 June 2024

Today, Netsafe New Zealand has entered the AI for good space to boost New Zealand’s anti-scam efforts.

Our award-winning Re:Scam AI tool is back at rescam.org. It’s designed to waste scammers' time and keep them from targeting new victims.

Re:Scam 2.0 is our custom artificial intelligence system, built by our data science, design and innovation teams, to engage scammers in endless conversations, making it hard for them to realise they're not talking with a human.

By forwarding suspicious emails to me@rescam.org, people can help disrupt scams, learn about cybercriminal tactics, and help Netsafe build our cyber smarts. See www.rescam.org for more.

Donate now and help Netsafe fund tools like RE:SCAM and continue to provide new ways to keep Kiwis safe online.
