Our beloved Declan lost his life suddenly. This page has been set up to make sure he gets home safely to Ireland with his NZ Family

Our beloved Declan Curley was suddenly taken from us on Saturday, 12 February in tragic circumstances in Wellington.
He leaves behind his heartbroken partner Sam & her daughter Mia who Declan loved & treated as his own. His loving parents Tommy & Rena, family & friends both in Ireland & New Zealand.
Declan will be heading home to Co. Roscommon, Ireland accompanied by his NZ family - Sam, Mia, Caolan & Áine.
This is a very difficult time for all involved, not only emotionally but financially. There has been an overwhelming reach from many friends in how they can help.
This page has been set up to help support & fund the significant costs Sam & Mia face in accompanying him back to Ireland & help support them during this awful time & to try repay the wonderful team at the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust (KBRT).
The fantastic KBRT have been helping with the arrangements & costs of his repatriation. Declan’s NZ family would love to repay them as much as possible so they can continue to support families who will unfortunately need them in such awful circumstances.
Declan was loved by so many, a true gentleman. He was Daddy to Mia & loved her so much, adored by his partner Sam and the best friend anyone could ask for.
He supported everyone & was crazy about sport, often staying up to ridiculous times in the morning in NZ to watch games. He is so sadly missed, he had such a wide circle of friends who will all remember him by his deep but witty voice & ability to light up any room.

ACC will supply some financial support to the family and anything made from this page will go towards Sam and Declan's family and repaying the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust for all the help they have provided

On behalf of Tommy, Rena, Sam, Mia and Declan’s extended family & friends, a huge thanks to everyone who donated to help getting Declan home.
It’s been an incredibly tough few months, but the kind words and generosity from so many who’s lives he touched has been really heartwarming for us.
In total we transferred $96,724.61NZD to the wonderful Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust made up of the $94,388 Give a Little fundraising page plus the ACC New Zealand funeral grant of $6,569.53 less Give A Little fees of -$4,402.14. We know the trust will be able to use this money to help other families who find themselves in this awful situation.
We know others have made donations directly to The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust and our thanks also to those who helped with flight costs etc.
While our lives will never be the same without our beloved Declan, our sincere gratitude to everyone for their kind thoughts, friendship and continued ongoing support we have received as we continue to come to terms with our loss.
Declan will forever be in our hearts and we cherish our wonderful memories of him.
