I have been a big fan of the Waikanae Watch for years now. They are one of the few independent media outlets in New Zealand not receiving money from the government. They need a bit of help to keep going .

All the hours we spend finding, watching, reading, writing and editing material to counter what the Establishment does and so balance what the biased Mainstream Media present are voluntary ones; but we have some expenses like web hosting fees, and some software, to meet.

We’ve deliberately kept our site free of clutter — no advertisements, annoying pop-ups and paywalls, requests for subscriptions — but it also means free of revenue that those features bring in.

Last year donors almost covered what we had to spend, and we’re asking for some help again.

We realize that there are other good causes out there that fight the same fights that we do, and we’ve donated to a couple ourselves, but we can’t keep paying external costs ourselves as we did for the first 7 years.
