Rangiora, Canterbury

Kia ora friends and whānau of Jason and Nina,

It is with great heartache that I am reaching out on behalf of my wonderful brother-in-law, beautiful sister, and their 3 gorgeous children aged 3yrs, 2yrs, and 2months. 2 weeks ago Nina and Jason were delivered a huge shock when Jason was diagnosed with bowel cancer. The past 2 weeks has been filled with many scans and appointments, and unfortunately they have found the cancer has spread and has been categorised as stage 4 cancer.

The coming months are going to bring huge obstacles as Jason starts chemotherapy, followed by surgery and more chemotherapy. These treatments mean that Jason has had to stop working and Nina will not be able to return to work as she will be caring for Jason while he goes through his treatments.

As you can imagine this has been a lot to process for Jason, Nina and their wider whānau. Time together before, during and after Jason's treatments has become priority for their wee tribe.

Many people have asked how they can help. By donating to this give-a-little cause you will be helping the Anderson whānau with costs such as childcare, travel costs, loss of wages, and the ability for their whānau to spend quality time together where possible.

If you know Jason and Nina personally, you will know that they have huge hearts and spend much of their time blessing others. Now it is our turn to give back to them, no matter how big or small. Every bit counts.

Ngā mihi nui

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Update #2

Kia ora whānau

We would like to begin by expressing our deepest gratitude. When we set this page up only 3 days ago we definitely were not expecting such an overwhelming response.

To every person who has read, shared, donated, prayed and shared their messages of support, we thank you all!

Originally I set this fundraiser to be open for 6 months so that there would be continuous financial support for the Anderson Family, however since the donations have far exceeded any expectations we had in mind, we have made the decision to close this page early.

Tomorrow at 5pm we will close this fundraiser off. All funds raised will be put directly into an account belonging to Nina and Jason.

Again I personally thank you all for the love and support shown.

Ngā mihi nui

Abbey (Nina's sister)
