So sorry with how long it has been since my last update, the last 3 months have been incredibly difficult to say the least! I switched over to some new chemo drugs for the last 4 rounds and my body did not handle them well, with frequent low blood counts and a few rounds in hospital, I was feeling pretty low and tired and to be honest very much over the whole thing. We were all very eager for that last round of chemo in mid September to be done. My body held up ok thankfully and I was able to get surgery done last week to finally get rid of the problem areas and see how well the treatment has gone.

Yesterday we got the results and the best news imaginable, that my cancer has for all sense and purposes, been cured! It is an outcome that I was hoping like hell for, but not expecting this early, when I haven’t had radiation yet. Lots of tears were shed and last night we had a couple of cheeky bubbles to celebrate.

The last 6 months were harder than I ever could have imagined and at times I really didn’t know how I would get through. I’m not sure I could have without the support of my incredible partner, family, friends, and children, who kept me from losing track of who I am and kept me looking forward.

I also want to thank every single one of you who donated to help fund my treatment. Without your help, it would have been very difficult to get all of the rounds that I needed, and I am confident they have saved my life, so from both myself and Sam, thank you all very much xx

  • 3 cycles down!

Hi everyone, I wanted to personally do a bit of an update on how I am going 3 cycles into my treatment. The last 3 months have understandably been some of the toughest of my life, with weekly treatments and all the side affects that come with that. On the plus side, it has also meant that I have been able to be at home enjoying time with my incredible fiancé, and our young babies, who have just gone past 10 months old! Addie and Noa have been a great distraction, with myself and Sam spending most of our time chasing after them, with them both now walking/ running!

Appearance wise, I have lost my hair, but my eyebrows and eyelashes are hanging on! My skin has improved a little bit as well from the last update so that is something to be positive about.

For my treatment, I am entering my 4th round this week with the big 3 drug dose ( including keytruda, which is the non-funded one). This week really wipes me out, and I spend most of it in bed, so thank you everyone who has recommended tv shows, movies and books!

I currently haven’t had an update scan, but will in the next few weeks, however there are good signs that the treatment is working.

Thank you everyone, especially those who I haven’t yet been able to thank personally, for your incredible donations. You have no idea what it means to me and my family. These donations are all going directly into funding keytruda, which is crucial to me beating this thing, so thank you all very much.

    Kelly x

Hi everyone, sorry its taken so long to update you all.

Firstly I would like to say on behalf of Kelly, Sam and all our family how incredibly humbled and grateful we are for each and every one of your donations. It will quite literally mean the difference between sub-par treatment and actually having the best shot at beating this thing. You have helped make up the cost of two rounds of treatment which is amazing! Thank you so so much.

Words can't quite describe the rollercoaster that has been the last month for Kelly; she has completed her first round and the oncologists have said she is responding well and having minimal side-effects so far. She still has her hair but her skin is suffering a bit, if anyone has any good skincare recommendations please let her know!

Treatment day is Thursday so please feel free to reach out and send well-wishes. If she can't respond please don't be discouraged just know she appreciates it.

I know once she is settled into the treatment she will want to personally thank each person that has supported her, it has all just been a bit overwhelming to date. I know each time a donation came in or a note was posted on the page she read it and felt the love!

She has told me she will update you all more regularly as things become more settled. That's all I have for now, on behalf of Kelly and all of us, thank you again.

    Much love

    Sarah
