Help support Kirsty and her family as she fights cancer
Christchurch, Canterbury
Phenomenal midwife, mum and all round amazing person Kirsty Wilkinson has just been diagnosed with Cervical Adenocarcinoma.
It's still early days, but treatment looks like it will involve radiation, chemo and surgery.
We want to help support her beautiful family during this time. Kirsty has 5 boys; Val (16), Connor (13), Alex (10), Cohen (10) and Leith (4) and the support of her loyal husband Andrew.
Kirsty is a fiercely passionate homebirth midwife who will advocate and fight for all of her families - and now it's our turn to stand and help her fight.
Somehow urban LMC midwives, the backbone of our entire maternal healthcare system, get only 5 days of Emergency Locum Cover, that's it. Once that is used up there is no further support from the DHB or Govt. No sick leave, nothing.
We want Kirsty and her family to be free from financial stress during this already challenging time, and to be able to focus on being together and kicking cancer, not paying bills!

Kirsty was my midwife and now I'm lucky enough to call her my friend.
Covering bills and extra non-funded medical expenses such as homeopathy during this time.
