To support Kylie through her recovery

Canterbury

Would like to say thank u to all whanau and friends for spending the time to listen to our story.

For starters for some of you who dont know me. My name is Ben Harley. Kylie Dennisons partner of 9 wonderful years. Just a quick note about of family. We have a beautiful family of 3 kids. Tyson 11 . Amiyah 5 and Isaiah of 2 years old whom we adore and love from the bottom of our hearts. We recently brought a house 13 months ago. Followed with a retail business we are building up. Kylie recently earned a managers position at valentine's after spending 5 years straight taking care of our children. She is a great mother and completes the link of keeping our family together. Never asks for anything in return but the smile on our kids face. We have a happy house hold and a very strong family hold .

Just recently kylie was diagnosed a condition called Chiari malformation. For some of you who dont know wat this is.

Chiari malformation (kee-AH-ree mal-for-MAY-shun) is a condition in which brain tissue extends into your spinal canal. It occurs when part of your skull is abnormally small or misshapen, pressing on your brain and forcing it downward.

Chiari malformation is uncommon, but increased use of imaging tests has led to more frequent diagnoses. Please feel free to research online.

For kylie she has a growth at the back of her brain the size of approx a golf ball which is also located near her spinal canal which needs to be removed urgently or it will cause long term effects or and even death. As much hard work is put in to build a family can come crashing down real hard. Kylie only started getting slight headaches a month or so ago. This turning into more constant pain to the back of her head and within a sort span of a couple weeks put her in hospital as we speak fighting for her life. This is even before any surgery has been done. I never reach out to people and specially dont reach out in post. My heart goes out to kylie and this is why I am telling you our story. As after her operation the road to recovery is a very long road. She will need to learn to talk and walk again. The chances of a full recovery is 50/50 also keeping in mind the condition may yet come back again in the near future. 70% chance of success. 20- 30% chance of death. These percentages i find it very difficult to state but it fact. I am reaching out to family, friends and people who have can relate to my story. Support to the road of recovery is the big issue I believe we will face. Up to 2 years recovery. I am a positive thinker most of the time and belive kylie is a fighter and we as a family will beat it Any support from you guys is a blessing in any form of way. Your wee Harley family love you so much and we are here for you . I would give up anything to get us through this.

Love you to the moon and back

Ps this is a message I received tonight from Kylie with her first night in hospital. Really hit me hard

Kylie- Mum just left. I didn't want her to go but I'm in ICU type of room so she wasn't aloud to stay. Hold our babies closely all night all 3 of them. I thought I would never get to again. I'm on constant monitoring the whole night. Every hour I get woken. I'm scared to go to sleep after what happened tonight. It hurts to look at my phone. But I love you and our children. Tell all 3 of them i love them more than anything. Hold them close all of them for me please. Look after them more than ever. Love you and them more than anything.

Please all pray for kylie to get through this hurdle in her life.

God bless
