Help get Lachie to Speedcubing World Champs

Auckland

Lachie is representing New Zealand at the 2025 Speedcubing World Champs in Seattle in July 2025!

Since breaking the World Record for the fastest ever solve of a Clock puzzle in 1.86s in January, Lachie has been working hard and is off to compete against the world's best in Seattle, USA in July.

Speedcubing is all about solving various forms of the Rubik's cube puzzle as fast as possible. Clock is one of 22 official World Cubing Association (WCA) events. Competitors complete 5 solves to form an 'average' with their fastest and slowest solves removed and the remaining 3 solves averaged.

Lachie is currently ranked #1 in the world for Clock single (fastest individual solve) and #3 in the world (behind an American and a Polish competitor) for Clock average.

The WCA World Championships is a 2,000 competitor event that happens every 2 years. Lachie is excited to represent Speedcubing New Zealand, but we need your help to get him there!

The competition is 4th July weekend, which is in NZ school holidays, so needless to say it won't be a cheap trip. Any donation or sponsorship is hugely appreciated and will help us immensely.

Lachie is also available to speak (and solve) at groups or events - please reach out via instagram initially.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
