Support Leon and His Family During a Difficult Time

Hello, my name is Leon, and I'm reaching out to share a story that has deeply impacted my family. At 28 years old, I find joy in gardening, hiking, and making music. In August of 2023, I made the decision to move back home to save money and be closer to my mother and younger brother after spending some time away.

Shortly after my return, my mother fell ill. Despite seeking medical help from multiple doctors and specialists, her condition remained a mystery. It wasn't until January that she traveled to visit her sister near Palmerston North and was admitted to the hospital there. Tragically, the doctors discovered cancer had spread throughout her body, and she passed away just a week later.

Before my brother and I could even process our grief or lay our mother to rest, we received devastating news from Kāinga Ora. Due to her passing, we were informed that we were being evicted from our home with little more than a month's notice. This unexpected loss, compounded by the sudden eviction, has left us in a precarious situation. I'm reaching out to humbly ask for your support during this challenging time.
