Help support a community Levin legend
Manawatu / Whanganui
Bonnie Crighton has been part of Levin’s heart and soul for decades. Whether playing Elvis or The Beatles on her keyboard, greeting people with a smile, or sharing a chat in town, Bonnie has always been one of the familiar faces that makes Levin feel like home.
Recently, Bonnie has been diagnosed with a pituitary gland brain tumor. This is a serious condition requiring surgery and significant recovery time. While doctors work to give Bonnie the best chance of recovery, our family will need to provide constant support – emotionally, physically, and financially.
Bonnie has given so much joy to the Levin community, bringing music and warmth to our streets. Bonnie had also travelled the wider range of the north island ranging from the Wellington region, Manawatu, Bay of Plenty to as far north being Kerikeri.
Now it’s our turn to rally around her.
We are seeking to raise funds to help cover ;
Travel and accommodation costs for family during surgery and treatment
Medical and recovery expenses not fully funded
Day-to-day living support while Bonnie focuses on healing
Every donation, big or small, will help relieve the burden on Bonnie and her loved ones, and remind her how much she means to this community.
Let’s stand together for Bonnie – our neighbour, our friend, our music-maker – and give back some of the joy she has shared with us all.
Please donate today, and share this page with others who know and love Bonnie.
This is our wonderful mum in which we have been by her side while we work through this nasty tumor she has in her head.

Bonnie's progress 27 November 2025
For the family, mum is recovering very well all considering since her operation last week.
She had the procedure taken care of by Doctor Andrew Parker and the Neuro team in Wellington hospital last week (Wednesday 19th November 2025).
6 days post surgery, mum then transferred to Palmerston North hospital and stayed there for a couple of days until finally transferring back to her home town of Levin and staying at Star 4 hospital where she will undertake a rehabilitation program.
Mum is allowed to go for very small walks at the moment, and is ever so grateful for all the loving messages and the amazing donations she's received so far.
Thank you very much.
