Support Mark Lacy’s Recovery & Ease Family Distress
Auckland
On 19 April, Mark Lacy suffered a life-threatening brain aneurysm, admitted to ICU, multiple surgeries and by a miracle has made it through these initial critical stages. However, remains in high dependency (at 19/5/26) - his journey is far from over.
Mark’s family have been told it's too early to know what the full extent of recovery will look like, it's a day-by-day scenario. Beyond hospital, ongoing care, rehabilitation, appointments, specialists, tests etc, transport to-and-from these (given this is a severe neurological condition he won’t be able to drive again) may fall on family members who have to step away from jobs to do so. There are many factors still unclear & considering the grief Lacy family has already gone thru in recent years, financial support would simply help take a load off while they process this emotionally (with support of whatever therapies they require too) as well as physically be able to show up with/for Mark, make the hard decisions necessary for best line of care, possible outcomes or face worst-case scenarios.
During this harrowing time, Mark’s loved ones are doing everything they can. It's meant time away from work, ongoing travel, accommodation costs & everyday expenses continuing to build.
Thank you for your kindness, support, prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
Mark turned 68 on 25/4/26 - we want to ensure he regains his quality of life to see many more birthdays in good health, with his daughters & young grandchildren! Much love
I am a close friend of Mark’s two daughters Jess & Bek and his late son, Daniel.
Mark’s medical needs & assist his two daughters to step away from work to support him, his rehabilitation & in his transition into care/home whenever that’s possible - this may be a long road. (Donors will be updated how funds have been allocated). Thanks!
