A fundraiser to help Mira Arif attend the Australian National Leadership Forum as a nominated delegate.
Hamilton, Waikato
I have been nominated to attend the Australian National Leadership Forum held in Canberra, by Layton Fraser, Chief of Staff at The Youth Impact Foundation, who formed an impression of me during my time at the Aspiring Young Leaders Forum 2023 in Wellington. He believes that I have shown exceptional potential as a future leader, but also one who has a current desire and standing as a leader in my community.
My commitment in Kirikiriroa is to lead and advocate for my people. Representation is key. I have pushed boundaries to demonstrate to my community that their potential shows no bounds. My mahi has developed skills that have shaped me into the leader I am today. I recognise that my journey to being an effective leader is far from complete.
Attending the NLF will equip me with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to grow as a leader.
Participating in the NLF offers three key benefits:
1) Empowered Advocacy: Will equip me with knowledge to represent ethnic migrants and refugees in Waikato, fostering solutions through workshops.
2) Inclusive Leadership: Will provide skills to lead inclusively, empowering marginalised communities through dialogue and understanding.
3) Community Engagement: Will connect me with like-minded individuals to promote social justice, overcome obstacles, and amplify community voices, fostering relationships and collective action.
I aim to create a more inclusive atmosphere in Waikato where all voices are heard and valued.
The money will be spent on the registration of the conference (which includes accomodation + food) and flights.
