Support Mount Maunganui local Tao Mouldey to compete in the ISA Junior World Surfing Championships in Brazil.

Tao is honoured to be selected to represent the New Zealand Junior Surfing Team in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil at the ISA Junior Worlds Surfing Championships this November.

For the third consecutive year Tao is ranked as New Zealand’s number one for the under-16 boys [at age 15].

Last year he placed 17th out of 120 of the world's best U16 boys from around the globe at the ISA 2022 Junior World Championships in El Salvador, he was also the highest-placed Kiwi from the NZ team at the El Salvador contest.

Tao takes a professional attitude towards his surfing, trains hard, is self-motivated and driven to achieve excellent results, he is also down-to-earth, humble, and kind. He has spent this year training and competing extremely hard to make the 2023 New Zealand team and to be given the opportunity to test himself against the best Junior surfers in the world again.

This trip is all self-funded by each team athlete - as there is no funding from Surfing NZ or High Performance Sport NZ. With only 7 weeks to go and the competition costing approx. $13,000 we are looking for any support for Tao to represent New Zealand on the world stage.
