After a terrible Accident, please help support Tamara & family’s recovery
Auckland
On the 25th January 2024, Nathan, Tamara, their 10-month-old Son Oscar and Oscar's Grandma (Nathan's Mum) were travelling in a camper van near Ruatapu in the Westland District, New Zealand. This trip marked the end of Tamara's Maternity leave before returning to work, and was a much anticipated opportunity to reconnect with Nathan after some time apart visiting her parents with Oscar. It was a rare opportunity for Nathan's Mum to spend time bonding with Oscar. Tamara moved to check that the door was secure. It wasn't and it opened fully. In an instant, Tamara was thrown out of the camper when the door flung open, she tried to hang on but as her fingers broke she fell onto the roadside and tumbled to a halt. By the time Nathan got to her she was crumpled on the road and he wasn't sure she had survived.
Tamara is a resilient, capable & positive women, and by the grace of God she is still alive.
She was airlifted to hospital in Greymouth where she was stabilised then transferred to Christchurch Hospital Her physical injuries include 3 broken fingers, broken arm, broken jaw in 3 places, fractured cheek & 7 broken teeth & extensive trauma that they will all need support to work through.
A number of amazing medical teams have performed three major surgeries so far, including facial reconstruction and now Tamara is beginning her healing Journey. Nathan has ceased working so that he can look after Tamara and wee Oscar as they face the challenges ahead & a long road to recovery
This is organised by Nathan's Siblings, in support of our beautiful sister-in-law Tamara and wee Oscar.
Donations will be used to help alleviate the sudden loss of both incomes & will cover cost of food, bills, day-to-day cost for Oscar and any other cost that may arise over the next we while.
